JTX is Jito Lab's trading app, running on the fastest market infrastructure on Solana, which the company also built. The core mission for this role is to make that speed tangible for traders. JTX is currently live, built by two frontend engineers, and this role would be the third. The work involves hardening existing systems, ensuring they hold up under real volume, expanding to mobile, and enhancing every screen a trader interacts with. Jito Labs is a small team with product-market fit, emphasizing high ownership, fast execution, and a high-quality bar where details are paramount. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will own the surface of JTX across web and mobile, covering order entry, market data, charts, positions, execution quality, onboarding, and underlying wallet flows. The role suits a generalist with strong taste, partnering with design, product, and infrastructure teams to make long-lasting architectural calls. This position is ideal for someone who understands how markets function on Solana and wants to build the product layer on top. Key challenges include maintaining data freshness across multiple live WebSocket streams, ensuring high performance for a data-dense terminal on various hardware, implementing robust security for wallet signing and session auth, managing shipping volume with a backlog larger than the team, maintaining product and design consistency across web and mobile, and making execution quality visually clear to traders. Responsibilities include building and owning the JTX client for web and mobile, shipping real-time trading interfaces (order books, charts, order entry, positions, fill/execution visibility), meeting tight latency and render budgets against streaming market data, building wallet and signing flows (self-custodial and embedded), owning shared component, state, and data layers, making scalable architectural decisions, and iterating quickly based on user feedback.
